Resolving Complex paiN
Pain is often a complicated and personalized sensory-emotional experience. “Chronic pain” is loosely defined as pain that persists beyond the predictable time of tissue healing (typically a few weeks). Importantly, pain can be become more complex over time as different neural pathways become involved.
Physical, emotional, psychological and social factors all play an important role in both managing and resolving pain. There are commonly a number of interrelated factors involved: for example, anxiety, sleep deprivation, and a loss of agency/control can contribute to the persistence of pain.
Self-regulation of the sympathetic nervous system, managing the interpretive meaning we derive from the experience of pain, and addressing the physical neural pathways as a source of pain are all elements in the optimal resolution of pain, function, and quality of life.
We offer a progressive and integrated program to help address issues associated with complex pain. We invite folks to book a free discovery call to explore what would be the best approach for the individual person.
